What kind of people join the Piedmont Chapter? We are plant enthusiasts, plant nerds, adventurous travelers, home gardeners and horticulture professionals. Our age range is from 16 to 90 plus, and our members hail from all over North Carolina as well as southern Virginia. We share plants, seeds, and time spent visiting gardens, such as Juniper Level Botanic Garden, and botanizing (hunting for plants in their habitats) in locations like the Green Swamp Nature Preserve in Supply, North Carolina.

We meet on Saturday mornings at the JC Raulston Arboretum in Raleigh, North Carolina. You are invited to attend our meetings, featuring excellent programs on plant breeding, botanizing in exotic locations and other horticultural topics.

Membership to join the Piedmont Chapter is $15/year single, $20/year household.
Take it to the next level! The North American Rock Garden Society, our parent organization, hosts annual meetings and study weekends, has an outstanding botanically oriented travel program, and allows members to acquire seeds from all over the world at nominal cost, via the annual Seed Exchange. Annual single membership in NARGS is $40. Our chapter pays half for the first year, so joining costs $20.
